The 3-8 Dolphins look for their third straight home win as they welcome the AFC West-leading Oakland Raiders (7-4) to Sun Life Stadium.
This will be the 35th all-time regular season meeting between the teams in a series that was dominated early on by the Raiders. The Dolphins, though, have won five of their last six against Oakland, including a 33-17 win at the Coliseum last year and a 17-15 win in 2008, the last time the teams met in South Florida.
The Dolphins look to get back on the horse after their one-point Thanksgiving Day loss to the Cowboys, while Oakland is in search of a fourth consecutive victory with new quarterback Carson Palmer under center. For more on the Raiders, you can go Behind Enemy Lines and listen to coach Hue Jackson and DT Richard Seymour’s conference calls as well as an interview with the host of the Raider Report, JT the Brick.
As for the Dolphins perspective and what the Fins need to do, John Congemi provides us with his three keys to victory against the Raiders and Danny Gonzalez-Quevedo gives you a good look at some of the things that the Dolphins players have said this week about the game against Oakland.
One of the reasons the Fins may have a slight edge in this game is injuries. While Miami has just three players listed on the injury report, the Raiders have six players ruled out and 10 more either questionable or probable. For more details, you can check out the official injury report for both teams.
This week’s game is also a very special day for the Dolphins family, as one of the truly legendary figures in franchise history will be honored. The late Jim “Mad Dog” Mandich will take his rightful place in the Dolphins Honor Roll at halftime as scores of former players return to honor his legacy as both a player and broadcaster. As we remember Jim, take a look back at some of our favorite calls of his and please enjoy this collection of audio files, as well.

Finally, a quick video preview, as former Dolphin Troy Drayton and I discuss the Dolphins, the Raiders and what needs to happen for Miami to collect their fourth win of the season:
